It doesn’t leak and doesn’t kink but the 17’ house only goes out to about 40’, not 50’. Otherwise it would get 5 stars.Sprang a leak mid-hose. Don't buy.I love this water hose!! It is very lightweight and easy to handle. It doesn't tangle or kink. When you turn the water on the hose expands (looks like a snake) and retracts when you turn the water off. It doesn't take up much space at all. I have watered flowers every summer all my life and this is the best hose I've ever used!!! I highly recommend it!I have purchased similar "expandable" water hoses in the past and some have gone from the very cheap to good. Many of these types of hoses are made of very thin layers of material that you know is not going to withstand any kind of aggressive handling or weather conditions. Many hoses also don't provide adequate water flow due to the restricted diameter size when water is turned on. This Autobots 50ft garden water hose seems to be made of better material than the ones I've previously owned. The water flow is also better than previously owned water hoses. I still wouldn't trust running this hose thru bushes that have thorns because, like the ones I previously owned, it may get punctured. Overall, I think this is a good value for what you get.This is the 3rd of these expandable hose I've owned, this one works the same. It isn't 50ft when contracted, but once the water flows if it does not flow out the same rate as the input then it will expand, up to whatever length it advertises. So take into consideration what you're using it for if you're counting on it to be 50ft long all the time.My previous ones all have threads ripped out of the outer fabric but for some reason this one hasn't yet after a month of continuous use.The nozzle is actually not bad either, no leak at all and easy to use with a lot of different spraying option to choose from.So I got this for my Father-In-Law. He's no spring chicken and long hoses do have some heft to them. This is great, just turn it on and it starts expanding right away. He can use it as he wants and when he's done just turn it off and leave the end open. It'll shrink down and he can carry it with ease.I actually find it mesmerizing to watch the hose collapse. It looks rather cool.So far this is working great. I've had a few other brands in the past and it seems that they fail when I forget to empty them. If I leave them under pressure then they have full house-pressure in them the whole time. Then at night after the last hot shower the house is at 80-ish PSI. As the night progresses the hot water heater expands the water and because every house on a municipal water supply has a back flow preventer, the water has nowhere to go (unless you have a leak). So the pressure builds. I've had as high as 120psi in the morning and that first glass of water has quite a shot of pressure till it bleeds back down to 80psi. I think that occasional high pressure kills these types of hoses, so if you want your hose to last just close the valve to it and leave the end open, even just a trickle, and it'll last a lot longer!
